Tractor-Trailer Driver Escaped Serious Injuries in Merrimack Accident

Anyone who saw a tractor-trailer crash on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack over the weekend is asked to contact the State Police.

Troopers determined the 43-year-old Providence, Rhode Island, man driving the truck fell asleep around 2:20 Saturday morning and drifted into a construction zone.

The truck hit sand barrels and went over temporary jersey barriers where it got stuck.

The driver was treated for minor injuries at Nashua Hospital, and the southbound side of the highway was shut down for about three hours.
