Two Arrested in Concord for Gift Card Crimes

Two people have been arrested in Concord for their alleged roles in an international gift card crime ring.

Authorities say the suspects are Chinese nationals and that their scheme involved taking gift cards off store shelves then opening them to get the PIN number and barcode.

The cards were then returned to the place they were purchased which allowed the scammers to steal the money before leaving consumers with worthless cards.
