Service Credit Union Housing Project for Workers in Portsmouth

Service Credit Union leaders understand how difficult it is for companies to hire and retain workers because of the high cost of housing in Portsmouth and the Seacoast.

Mike Mulhern of Service Credit Union has watched as housing prices have continued to soar, forcing some of his company’s employees to pay 50% or more of their income for housing.

Others have to commute to work in Portsmouth from more than an hour area, he said.

Service Credit Union has decided to help address the housing crisis by developing affordable housing on a 25-acre site the company owns off Lang Road.
