Bill Requiring NH Schools To Designate Sports by Gender Goes Into Effect Next Month
A measure that will ban transgender athletes in grade 5 through 12 will go into effect this time next month in New Hampshire.
State officials say Governor Chris Sununu signed the bill passed by the state’s Republican-led legislature that requires schools to designate all sports teams as boys, girls or coed.
Eligibility reportedly will be determined by the student’s birth certificate.
Roughly half of all states have enacted similar legislation.
