Hampstead Residents Upset Over Possible Juvenile Facility
Hampstead residents are pushing back over plans to bring a new juvenile facility to the community.
Discussions about the design for such a facility turned heated at the Executive Council meeting Wednesday when residents began to loudly complain about the facility.
The new facility would have 18 beds for kids sent there and would add space to separate young people with gang affiliations.
Some residents say they continue to have safety concerns about the facility coming to Hampstead and believe they weren’t properly given the ability to discuss such a move with local and state officials.
