Social Media Warning Labels – Will It Happen?
New Hampshire’s attorney general is calling for warning labels on social media platforms. What would it be and would it work?
More than 40 attorneys general have signed a letter to the U.S. surgeon general, urging warnings on platforms that use algorithms.
The letter cites research linking those platforms to mental health issues like depression and anxiety.
It also mentions features such as “infinite scrolling” and constant notifications that keep kids hooked on their devices.
New Hampshire is also one of 44 states suing TikTok and Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram.
