Governor Wants Dangerous Drivers On I-95 Ticketed
NH Governor Chris Sununu is calling for State Police to ticket dangerous drivers on Interstate 95.
The governor made the request yesterday following a recent string of serious crashes on the highway.
He called the surge of accidents concerning, saying many of them have been attributed to people being aggressive behind the wheel.
Data shows since 2020 there’s been at least one fatal crash per year on New Hampshire roads during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Law enforcement officers from across New England were in Concord on Tuesday to plead with drivers to be safe on the roads. They asked that anyone who sees something concerning on the roads call 911 so it can be addressed immediately.
The governor said he hopes that increasing the stakes along I-95, where several of the recent serious and fatal crashes have occurred, will make people think twice.
