Portsmouth Public Library Reducing Hours

The Portsmouth Public Library is going to be open 58 hours a week starting August 18th.

That is a reduction of ten-and-a-half hours from the current schedule.

Reasons cited include the elimination of one staff position and the 2026 fiscal year budget adopted by the city that allocated two-point-four-million-dollars for the library, down from two-point-five-million-dollars in the last fiscal year.
