Cybersecurity Incident In Hillsborough County

An outage that affected Hillsborough County government offices over the weekend was caused by what is described as a “cybersecurity incident.”

The affected systems were taken offline out of an abundance of caution to protect data.

Public safety operations and emergency services were not impacted.

In a statement county officials said additional security measures and monitoring of its network have been implemented.

The incident is under investigation.
