Gorham Police Chief Placed On Leave

The chief of the Gorham Police Department remains on administrative leave after being accused of assault.

It’s alleged Chief Jimmy Willhoite grabbed a man by the throat during the recent Fourth of July holiday weekend.

That incident was captured on camera and the victim ended up being pushed against a wall inside the Gorham Police Department building.

The incident is being investigated by the state Attorney General’s Office.
