A man who orchestrated a cyberattack that hindered Auburn’s town system is now working to prevent attacks. Wayne Kenney Junior, who pleaded guilty and served a year of home confinement, attributed a 2015 cyberattack that compromised the Auburn Police Department computers to wanting revenge after being arrested for drug possession. Since his release, the 36-year-old has graduated magna cum laude with a degree in cybersecurity from Southern New Hampshire University and is now developing “CyberGuard.” It’s a software designed to protect against social engineering attacks like the one he conducted.

A teenager in New Hampshire is scheduled to be arraigned next month after an incident at the Portsmouth International Airport over the weekend. It happened on Saturday just after 8 p.m. when Wyatt Seely, from Rochester, crashed through a perimeter fence while fleeing police and hit a parked plane and nearby tractor. Authorities say the chase began when they were searching for a car related to reported crimes in other local jurisdictions. The 17-year-old was eventually arrested and taken to a hospital for evaluation. No one else was injured. The teen is being charged with DWI, aggravated driving while intoxicated and disobeying a police officer, in addition to other crimes. Seely is scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth District Court on September 9th.

New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen and more than a dozen other senators are opposed to outfitting ICE agents with gloves that deliver electric shocks. Shaheen and her colleagues said that at a time when “the American people have demanded a de-escalation of immigrant enforcement, it is not clear why existing tools and tactics are insufficient.” If the agency proceeds with the 20-million-dollar purchase, the senators are demanding it must first provide answers regarding protocol for using the gloves, safety guardrails and accountability measures.
