Two people are recovering after a fire at an apartment building in Manchester on Tuesday afternoon. The Manchester Fire Department said it happened at around 4 p.m. at an apartment on Amherst Street. One person suffered a fall while another was transported to a hospital for smoke inhalation. Their conditions are unknown at this time. The MFD says they found two deceased cats and reunited one dog with its owner. The damage is located at the rear of three apartment units and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Dartmouth Health is laying off 124 employees and getting rid of over 300 open positions. The health system made the announcement on Tuesday. Other changes include the restructuring of executive roles and administrative leadership, along with the elimination of some programs. This comes after the health system reported a more than 60-million-dollar loss earlier this year.

A Dover man is being charged after two small dogs were found abandoned last month in the woods. Victor Gonzalez Triana was arrested after investigators identified him as the owner of the animals. The miniature pinscher and Chihuahua were determined to be in good health and taken to Pope Memorial Humane Society. Gonzalez Triana is scheduled to be arraignment next month.
