Woman Sentenced for Stealing Thousands From Two School Districts
A woman who acted as bookkeeper for two school districts in the Granite State is heading to prison after admitting that she stole more than $130,000.
Prosecutors say 48-year-old Amy Burley took funds from both the Barnstead and Hampton districts.
She used the money for things like making student loan payments, paying creditors, and also paid credit card bills for herself and family members.
She pleaded guilty in February to two felony theft charges and has been sentenced to 366 days in prison followed by two years of supervised release.
