AccuWeather…Threat of Flooding Endangering Lives and Property Expected Into Early Next Week
AccuWeather meteorologists are warning of repeated rounds of slow-moving, drenching thunderstorms late this week into early next in the Northeast which could result in serious life-threatening flash flooding.
AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jon Porter said that ‘a major concern is that renewed, serious flash flooding can occur in some of the same areas that were heavily impacted by devastating and deadly flooding in the last several days because it will now take even less rainfall to result in dangerous flash flooding in these areas given how saturated the ground is.’
Additionally, Porter pointed out that a dangerous risk for flash flooding can evolve even farther south and east than what has occurred recently, placing more people and businesses at risk along the I-95 corridor.
