Several Roads in Alton Seriously Damaged After Flooding

Heavy rain and flooding caused serious and significant problems across the state Sunday.

According to Channel 9 Alton is one of the areas seeing a lot of the flooding damage after getting more than 6 inches of rain.

Alton Public Works Director Scott Kinmond said several roads have been seriously damaged and several areas are completely impassable.

He said central Alton and part of south Alton have been impacted the most.

A New Hampshire State Police trooper told WMUR the town is “essentially an island right now.”

Police are urging people to stay home and off the roads because there’s flooding in all parts of town.
