New Federal Grant Will Bring Produce Grown by Farmers to Schools
A new federal grant is going to be used to bring produce grown by New Hampshire farmers to schools across the state.
Over 40 districts will likely take part in this new initiative, and how much money they receive will be based on a district’s enrollment in the free or reduced lunch program.
The goal is to not only help farmers who have been struggling, but to also provide healthier food options for students.
Districts will have to follow USDA guidelines on what they can buy.
