Red Cross Volunteers Head to Florida After Hurricane Idalia
About 400 American Red Cross volunteers, including some from New Hampshire, are heading to Florida to help with recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Idalia according to WMUR.
Dan Dowling, of the American Red Cross of Northern New England, said the storm brought coastal flooding, flash flooding and damaging winds.
The storm was headed into Georgia and the Carolinas, with up to 10 inches of rain expected in the interior areas within the next 24 hours.
‘Hurricane season in the Atlantic is just getting started, and I don’t think this will be the last disaster we respond to this year,’ Dowling said.
