State Officials Voice Concern Amid Recent Rise In NH Traffic Deaths
(Concord, NH) — State transportation officials are voicing concern about the post-pandemic rise in vehicle-related traffic fatalities.
That concern reportedly stems from data showing that U.S. traffic deaths reached a 16-year high last, with fatalities rising in virtually every state including New Hampshire.
Just under 43 thousand highway deaths were reported nationwide in 2021, a jump of almost 10 percent from the year before.
In New Hampshire, 123 traffic deaths were logged last year, marking an 18-percent increase from 2020.
