Laconia Approves New Playground Equipment
The city’s elementary schools are in line for upgraded playgrounds, after the school board voted unanimously on Tuesday night to approve a contract.
Discussion of the topic at the board meeting revealed the equipment is expected to be installed in the fall of this year.
Superintendent Steve Tucker said ‘playgrounds, especially at the elementary level, are more than just a space for kids to get some fresh air,’ Tucker said. ‘The elementary-grade playground is basically an outdoor classroom. It’s an authentic learning and teaching experience for our students and it supports their mental and physical health.’
