I-93 State Police Traffic Enforcement in Salem

Due to a dramatic increase in speeding in the area, a State Police enforcement effort on I-93 in Salem Friday morning resulted in 56 violations.

Twenty-one drivers were traveling at over 90 miles per hour, seven more exceeded 100 miles per hour.

At around 8:15 a.m., 48-year-old Reginald Carter of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was arrested after being clocked at 128 miles per hour.

Other violations included following too closely, use of a mobile device and negligent driving.
