Advocate Calls for Investigation of New Hampshire Electric Co-Op
A consumer advocate wants state officials to probe problems with the New Hampshire Electric Co-Op.
Donald Kreis says an investigation is needed to address issues with the co-op’s board of directors, how electricity is purchased and the reason behind some recent resignations.
He was at the board meeting Tuesday when chairman William Darcy reportedly discussed the co-op making as needed spot purchases of electricity from the wholesale market.
Some say while these purchases may offer short-term savings, these could also lead to a situation similar to what lead to a grid failure in Texas in 2021.
Kreis says he sent a letter to the Public Utilities Commission in connection to two recent resignations he contends are allegedly tied to sexism within the co-op.
