Alex Bregman Opts Out

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman has opted out of his contract with the team, making him a free agent for the second straight offseason.

The decision was expected, as it’s believed Bregman could earn more on the open market than the $80 million he was guaranteed on the remainder of his deal.

The Red Sox are believed to be interested in re-signing Bregman.
