Annual Report:  Manchester Police Remain Understaffed

In its annual crime report, the Manchester Police Department noted new recruitment and hiring practices have been implemented.

Nevertheless, the department is still understaffed and retaining and recruitment remain top priorities.

There are currently 202 officers in a city with a population of 115,000.

In 2023, Manchester police responded to 45,000 calls for service, conducted over 2,900 investigations and made over 4,300 arrests.
