Bedford Fisherman Dead After Canoe Capsized on Lake Tarleton
A Bedford man is dead after his canoe capsized in Lake Tarleton Friday morning.
Troopers say 59-year-old Michael A. Johnson and a friend were fishing when the watercraft overturned, sending both men overboard.
Troopers and New Hampshire Marine Patrol personnel called to the scene shortly after 9:30 a.m.
First responders reportedly found Johnson face down in the water a short time later and pulled him to safety.
However, efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
The other man, whose identity was not released, reportedly made it back to shore.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
