Bedford Native Takes Home Bronze with Team USA

Chris Carlson is something of a legend around the campus of Brewster Academy.

The 27-year-old Bedford native picked up crew while attending the prep school before going on to row in college, and now for Team USA.

Carlson earned a piece of Olympic history Saturday, winning the bronze medal as part of the eight-man team rowing for the United States in France.

Carlson is one of two Brewster Academy alumni competing in the Paris games.

Melvin Ejim is playing for Canada’s men’s basketball team.
