Boaters Warned of Dangers Associated with Mussels

Boaters are being warned by officials about the dangers associated with zebra mussels.

The mussels can spread between bodies of water by attaching themselves to boats that aren’t properly cleaned.

The shells of the mussels can damage boat motors and because they’re sharp, people who walk in the water are at risk of getting hurt.

Experts say washing boats with water that’s warm and soapy can help get rid of the mussels.
