Carbon-Monoxide Poisoning Blamed For Christmas Day Deaths Of 4 Wakefield Residents
NH State officials are releasing the names of a Newton, Massachusetts couple and their two adult daughters who apparently died from carbon-monoxide poisoning inside their Wakefield, New Hampshire vacation home on Christmas Day. Authorities say 52-year-old Matthew Goldstein, 54-year-old Lyla Goldstein and their daughters, 22-year-old Valerie and 19-year-old Violet, were pronounced dead at the scene on Thursday. Family members say they alerted authorities after the quartet failed to show up at a holiday gathering. Officers called to the scene just before 4:30 p.m. found all four victims dead. Investigators later determined that the home had no carbon-monoxide detectors in the home.
