Concord Lawmakers Mull Measure to Clear Way for Downtown Development Project
City council members are scheduled to meet Monday to vote on a measure that would increase the maximum building height for new construction in downtown Concord.
Local lawmakers say the vote comes amid plans by a developer to transform Concord’s historic Phenix Hall into a restaurant and event center.
The plan reportedly also includes the demolition of the one-story building next door to make room for a seven-story, mixed-use building that would include 38 housing units, retail space and a rooftop restaurant.
