Constitutional Amendment to Protect Abortion Rights
A bipartisan bid has been launched in New Hampshire for a Constitutional Amendment to protect abortion rights up until 24 weeks of pregnancy.
The action announced Monday comes a year after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Additionally, there’s a bill pending in the state Legislature that would limit abortion to the first 15 days of pregnancy.
A Constitutional Amendment requires support from 60% of both the House and Senate and at least 66% of voter approval.
