Controversial Historical Marker Removed in Concord

A historical marker put up earlier this month in Concord has been removed.

The sign near the birthplace of Elizabeth Gurley Flynn in Concord had sparked complaints because she was a prominent member of the Communist party.

Her supporters are upset with the decision to remove the marker, describing her as a 20th century champion for labor, civil liberties and gender equality.
