Danbury Elementary School To Be Closed

The Newfound Area School District is going to close the Danbury Elementary School at the ed of the current school year in order to save athletics and various programs.

The school board’s decision follows last week’s rejection by voters of its proposed budget.

Superintendent Paul Hoiris acknowledged the decision is “upsetting and disappointing.”

He said administrators will work on a consolidation plan that best supports students, staff and families.
