Deerfield Man Charged for Alleged Role in Incident Involving Machete and Molotov Cocktail
A Deerfield man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly threatened a man with an edged weapon and later threw a Molotov cocktail into the man’s home last summer.
Investigators say, in July, Joshua Leighton knocked on the door of a Meetinghouse Hill Road home and threatened the man who answered with a machete. The man closed the door and called 9-1-1.
A short time later, Leighton allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail through the man’s window.
No one was hurt.
Last week, police announced that Leighton had been charged with arson, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, and burglary.
