August 25, 2024

New Hampshire state Representative David Love is settling with two plaintiffs in a Manchester defamation case.

Local court officials say the Republican state lawmaker from Derry admitted to making false claims about two drag queens during a Derry Town Council meeting in February 2022.

Robert Champion and Michael McMahon filed suit two months later, accusing the state lawmaker of lying about both men and impugning their character.

As part of the settlement, officials say, Love must pay each defendant $100,000.

He must also post a statement of guilt on social media.
