Downed Wires Cause Five Alarm Brush Fire

Downed wires are being blamed for sparking a five-alarm brush fire in Deerfield.

The blaze happened yesterday on Middle Road and the flames were able to spread quickly and threaten nearby homes.

Two propane tanks ended up exploding, and it took crews from surrounding communities several hours to get things under control.

They’ll be on the scene again today checking for any potential hotspots.

No injuries were reported.
