Drowning Investigation In Laconia

The drowning death of a woman in Laconia is being investigated.

NH State Police said 73-year-old Bonita Johnson was swimming alone in Opechee Bay around seven p.m. Monday.

She was spotted floating facedown and two good Samaritans attempted life-saving efforts until first responders arrived.

An autopsy revealed she suffered a medical event prior to drowning.
