Republican Kelly Ayotte is making history after becoming just the third woman to be elected New Hampshire governor. Ayotte fought off a challenge from Democrat and former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig. In her victory speech, Ayotte thanked everyone who supported her while Craig said that she’s disappointed with the result but proud of the campaign she ran. Ayotte takes over for Governor Sununu who chose not to seek re-election.
Granite State residents also know who is going to represent them on Capitol Hill in 2025. In the First Congressional District, Democrat and Congressman Chris Pappas cruised to a fourth term in office, beating Republican Russell Prescott. As for the Second District, Democrat Maggie Goodlander came out on top against Republican Lily Tang Williams. Incumbent Congresswoman Annie Kuster previously announced she’s retiring at the end of her current term.
