Embezzlement Uncovered at Dunvegan Woods in Hampton
Condo owners at Dunvegan Woods are reeling after learning the late president of their association allegedly embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars, leaving the complex with only a few thousand dollars in the bank.
Dunvegan Woods, situated on High Street and just under a mile from the beach, is a well-established housing complex that began development in the 1980s and has expanded over the years.
The community features 110 two-bedroom condos, currently priced between $400,000 and $500,000.
According to a letter sent in mid-September to Dunvegan condominium owners by the board of directors, following the death of long-time association president and property manager Gary Simard, the board ‘discovered serious financial irregularities in the books.’
