Hassan Says Northern Border Security Important

Senator Maggie Hassan says strengthening security at the Northern Border is important to overall national security.

She received a briefing last week and took an aerial tour of the Swanton Sector which covers part of the U.S. border with Canada in New Hampshire, Vermont and New York.

There has been a recent increase in illegal crossings as well drug smuggling issues.

Hassan, who is a member of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, says she will continue working to support law enforcement at the border.
