Health Officials Confirm Tuberculosis Case

New Hampshire State health officials say a person is recovering after being diagnosed with tuberculosis.

According to authorities, the individual is an adult who spent time in a homeless shelter and with a community organization while they were contagious.

An average of 12 New Hampshire residents test positive for tuberculosis each year and work is underway to find anyone who may have been exposed to this person so they can get tested.

TB mostly affects the lungs but can usually be treated with antibiotics.
