Historic Seacoast Bridge Being Removed

Crews are starting the removal process for the General Sullivan Memorial Bridge in the Seacoast.

The bridge spans over Little Bay between Dover and Newington.

Right now, cranes are adding temporary trestles near the navigation channel.

Once those are done, crews will start taking apart the bridge.

That is expected to start in the spring.

The bridge was originally completed in 1934 and was used until 1984, when the Little Bay bridges were completed.
