House Fire in Belmont Displaces Residents
An investigation is ongoing in connection with a house fire in Belmont Thursday that claimed the lives of several pet cats.
Firefighters arrived at a structure on Concord Street at about 12:30 a.m.
Crews found the first floor engulfed and flames spreading to the second floor.
It took about six hours to bring the fire under control.
There were no reported injuries, but animals died.
Officials say the house was divided into three apartments and two of these were destroyed.
