Industry Group Criticizes Ending NH Vehicle Inspections

Annual vehicle inspections in the Granite State will no longer be mandatory starting in 2026.

The provision was included in the state budget signed into law Friday by Governor Kelly Ayotte.

Supporters said annual inspections are expensive and benefit dealers and mechanics.

However, the New Hampshire Auto Dealers Association warned eliminating inspections is “reckless and shortsighted.”
