Job Cuts May Be Coming To State Prisons

Employees at state prisons across New Hampshire could be at risk of losing their jobs.
Yesterday, the House Finance Committee approved a 21-million-dollar cut to Department of Corrections as part of the next state budget. If that cut remains in the budget, over 190 positions would be eliminated, including 99 that are currently filled.
Opponents say eliminating these positions would lead to dangerous conditions within prisons.
