Judge Sentences New Hampshire Mother Who Pleaded Guilty To Killing Her Son
A New Hampshire woman was sentenced today to at least 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing her son, Elijah Lewis. Judge Charles Temple sentenced 38 year old Danielle Dauphinais to 50 years to life in prison for a second-degree murder charge in the killing of her son.
She also received two sentences of 3.5 to 7 years for the two counts of witness tampering. The witness tampering sentences will be served consecutive to the second-degree murder sentence and concurrent to each other. In the end, it’s a combined sentence of 53.5 years to life in prison.
The prosecution had been seeking a maximum penalty of 55 years to life in prison for the second-degree murder charge. The defense, meanwhile, sought a sentence of 35 years to life. Her boyfriend pleaded guilty to manslaughter, assault and other charges in 2022 in connection with Elijah’s death. He’s serving a 22-to-45-year prison sentence.
