Laconia and Chamber of Commerce at Odds Over Future Home of Pumpkin Festival

According to The Union Leader the City of Laconia has plans for more conversations with the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce about keeping the headquarters of the New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival in the downtown area rather than moving it to Lake Winnipesaukee.

The chamber said the move was intended to expand the event and to also reduce use conflicts in the downtown area, but during a public hearing on the proposed relocation it was clear that the idea had little support.
