Layoffs Expected in Pembroke School District

The Pembroke School District is planning 20 job cuts.

Channel 9 reported town meeting voters recently approved a budget $3-million-dollars less than what had been proposed.

Administrators said mandated programs and transportation services are major reasons for cost increases.

As a result of the reduced budget, the superintendent said teachers, paraprofessionals and librarians will be laid off.
