Liberty Utilities Customers May Have to Pay More for Service

People who use Liberty Utilities for their gas service may be handing over a lot more of their hard-earned money.

The company is looking into raising rates for certain residential customers by roughly 23%.

If approved, there would be an average increase of about $200 per year for those individuals.

Liberty says it needs money to improve the reliability and safety of its system.

The state’s Public Utilities Commission will meet this week to consider Liberty’s request.
