Long Standoff Ended Peacefully in Northwood

A more than 12-hour standoff in Northwood ended peacefully around three am Thursday.

Channel 9 reported it started Wednesday afternoon when officers responding to a disturbance call at a house on Priest Road were met by 20-year-old Gabriel Burgess who was armed with a rifle and making threats.

Authorities said he was eventually taken into custody after talking with a police negotiator.
