Maine Turnpike Authority Says Tariffs Hurting Construction Plans

The Maine Turnpike Authority says tariffs issued by President Trump are impacting its construction project plans.

The head of the agency says the cost of materials such as lumber, steel and petroleum products have been rising for years, and will get even more expensive with the tariffs.

Those hikes mean there’s less money available for some needed projects.

The MTA is hoping for a quick resolution so prices remain reasonable.
