Maine Voters Split On Two Statewide Referendums

Only one of two statewide referendums Mainers cast their ballots on will be going into effect.

Question One, which would’ve required photo ID at the polls and made several changes to absentee voting, ended up being defeated.

But Question Two, which asked voters if they wanted to approve a red flag law that would make it easier for police and family members to get guns away from people considered a threat to themselves or others passed.
